And that awful feeling starts to rise: They're not here. Something's wrong.

For so many people, that's not a story. That's a real memory. A moment when a member of the family is suddenly missing, and fear, guilt, and helplessness all pile in at once.

In that moment, you don't just need sympathy.

You need help.

You need someone to say, "We're on our way. You're not alone. We're going to do everything we can to bring them home."

That is why PADSAR - Pet Aerial Drone Search and Recovery - exists.

PADSAR is a FREE, volunteer-run service that goes out with skilled teams and specialist drones to search for missing pets. No call-out fee. No invoice at the end. Just people who care, using serious technology to give families hope.

But here's the reality: while PADSAR is free to use, it is not free to run.

A single new thermal drone, with all the peripherals it needs - the specialist camera, batteries, controllers, chargers, cases, safety gear, training, and insurance to use it properly - costs in excess of £10,000.

Right now, we're aiming to raise at least £5,000 as a major step toward that cost and to keep the whole service strong - from equipment and training to insurance and basic running costs.

So here's the ask.

If you've ever loved an animal like family - if you can imagine that awful moment when they don't come when you call - would you consider giving something today?

For some, that might be a large gift that covers a big chunk of that £10,000+ drone cost.

For others, it might be a smaller amount that simply says, "I care, and I want this service to be there for people."
